In 2002, SOCIETE GENERALE started regrouping its 180 administrative departments established in agencies into around twenty "Customer Service Centres" (Pôles Services Clients or PSC). As a consequence, the number of files to be handled per site increased significantly and a new filing system for banking files had to be rolled out.

ELECTROCLASS solution

ELECTROCLASS recommended a solution for organizing and filing some 20,000 banking files per site which would focus on GIROCLASS carousel filers connected to the network-set-up G-DOC management and tracking software.

Advantages

Processing volume increased, filing surface cut by three, on-site storage life reduced, more reliable filing method, solution extended to other filing systems: in 2005, some twenty "Customer Service Centres" (PSC) were equipped with this solution and first results were already visible.

"Before setting up the ELECTROCLASS filing solution, each department had its own, frequently, highly-different habits. Given the increase in movements and number of files, we were looking for a solution which would free us from having to draw up filing plans and which would be able to keep track of files and optimize on-site storage life. ELECTROCLASS proved to be highly-competitive and incredibly proactive. Its ability to tailor G-DOC to our needs was a real strong point. So that our users could become acquainted with G-DOC as quickly as possible, ELECTROCLASS developed a self-service mode with intuitive access to the key processing features. We now make the most of automating tasks thanks to the barcode reader and file indexing. Filing is much easier, more reliable: less refiling errors and fewer files lost. Our upcoming rollout of E G-DOC, the G-DOC intranet version, will enable users to access specific file features from their own workstation."
