Presentation and customer needs

The Regional Cooperative of Champagne Wines is a cooperative bringing together 24 winegrowers who manufacture, bottle and market wines, champagnes, sweet wines from Champagne vines. The C.R.V.C has a production capacity of more than 2 million bottles. One of their main partners is the champagne house DE CASTELNAU which, in 2004, opened a new liquor factory with a fermentation capacity of 123,000 hectolitres; a new extension that can reach a storage potential of 29 million bottles.

The major challenge for the Head of the clothing department at DE CASTELNAU was the reallocation of the space allocated to dry materials in the new storage space. The old room then contained reels of labels, packages of dry materials, adhesives or labels. These items were stored on shelves in a 150 m² space away from the production lines. There was no stock management software, the computer entry being carried out by the storekeeper manually.
